fifth wheel rv camper travels on mountain road
January, 2008 News
Brrrr! It's cold and yucky outside; perfect weather for thinking about camping
trips.  We did get to spend the night in the camper New Year's Eve, and
hopefully we'll take it up to PA for a quick ski trip next weekend if it's cold
enough.

Here's what we've been up to lately:

Camping:  The girls' Spring Break is the week after Easter, so we are
planning to run down to the Florida Keys to our favorite tropical campground:
The Fiesta Key KOA. We will be in site #181, so stop by and say "hi" if you
are in the area!

Downsizing:  After reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, we are committed
to downsizing even further. After all, how can we allow wealth into our lives if
we don't make room for it, right?

So when I received the
eBay email about discounted listing fees (one day
only!), I grabbed a few things that I have been meaning to sell for a while and
listed them (for your info, my eBay handle is campingrvnut). I only listed a
couple of things, but after the New Year's Eve rush to the Lutheran Mission to
donate a few last items (a little more off my taxes!), I just didn't have the
energy to list anything else.

Rich has even made the first real effort to get rid of his tools. I'm sure he'll take
a big loss on them, but he just doesn't have the time to work out, work, and
play woodworking.  Most importantly, we don't want to pay a ton of money to
store and move something that he uses so little.  Hopefully his sacrifice will
make some woodworker very happy!

Finances:  The savings thermometer is a little static right now; we are only a
little closer to our goal amount because of Christmas expenses and an
investment in another website related to something near and dear to my heart:
nutrition and fitness.

We are seriously getting the bug to buy a bigger camper.  Gosh knows we
won't get ahead any faster if we do it now, so we are going to completely avoid
Lazy Days like the plague.  I just hope we don't need to take the Tioga in for
any repairs while we're in Florida, or we may be cruising home in that
Class A
diesel pusher we've had our eye on for the last year....
