Camp cooking is much more than sitting around a campfire eating s'mores
(although there's nothing wrong with that at all!) Here's some tried favorites
with kids and adults!

Blender Drinks with a mason jar

Blenders are not only for daiquiris or Margaritas, just like mason jars aren't
only for drinking moonshine on the front porch! You can use this
often-neglected kitchen appliance, and this underused life-saving glass
storage container for easy and very healthy meals in a minute with little clean
up. Did you know that regular pint-sized and quart-sized mason jars fit the
blade attachment of most blenders?

Pie Iron Recipes

Pie irons are great fun to cook with once you get the basics down. A pie iron
is a square cast iron cooker with 2 long handles attached. Probably the most
popular recipe is for dessert pies. Flatten two pieces of bread. Butter each
slice on one side. Very little clean-up, the pie is the epitome of easy campfire
cooking.

Slow Cooker R ecipe s

I've cooked with my slow cooker while travelling to a destination; dinner will be
ready once you've set up. Just make sure to secure the cooker during
travel! Remember to use a slow cooker liner bag for really easy clean up.

Disclaimer: I am horrible with measuring ingredients. Therefore, all the
following ingredient amounts are estimates. A little more or a little less of
anything shouldn't affect the outcome of a recipe unless an amount is
specified. And if a recipe needs that much measuring and calculating, then
it's too complicated to fix when you should be spending your time relaxing.
So put down that measuring cup; just dump the ingredients in your crock pot
and go for a hike instead!!

Kids' favorite camping recipes

Who doesn't like simple with little preparation and no clean up! The kids are
onto something; isn't it funny how their favorites are the easist?

Before you wrinkle your nose and stop reading, you need to at least learn
